About the Recipe
Pizza can be healthy if you have a whole grain base and lots of veggies. Feel free to toss on all your favorites.
1 pita bread pocket (100% whole grain)
2 -3 tablespoons pizza sauce
1/4 cup grated cheese (organic if possible)
1/2 chopped yellow pepper (or any color or combo of peppers)
A few pieces of thinly sliced shallot
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2) Spread Pizza sauce on pita bread
3) Add cheese, peppers, and shallots.
4) Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbling.
Some pizza sauces are loaded with sugar, so check the ingredients to ensure there's very little or no added sugar. Wholefoods 365 pizza sauce has zero added sugar and works well in this recipe.
